​The Cavalier King Charles' are recognized as a small Spaniel and classed in the Toy group. Although they are even tempered, gentle and sensitive, they do love to play. 

 Full grown they typically weigh  13-18 pounds and stand on average between 12-13 inches tall, another reason why they make great cuddly lap dogs.

Their fur is silky smooth and considered medium length.

• Tricolor, describes three colors that are mixed across the entire body. In most instances, white is the primary color over the body, although sometimes black will be, it also has ruby or chestnut spots that pop through the black silky fur here and there. The ruby-colored eyebrows, that make it seem so expressive, may be the best part of this color.

• Black and Tan pups, said by some to be the rarest, typically have a black body that features tan highlights around the eyebrows, cheeks, underneath their tails, and sometimes even inside their ears and on their legs.
